Henrietta “Hettie” Anderson was Saint-Gauden’s primary model for this depiction. The coin includes the U.S. Capitol and the word “LIBERTY” at the top, surrounded by 48 six-pointed stars along the rim. The date and the designer’s initials ASG are also featured.

On the reverse, the sun crest appears below with rays extending upward behind a left-facing eagle in flight. Above the sun, “IN GOD WE TRUST” is displayed in an arc, while “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TWENTY DOLLARS” form concentric arcs near the top, separated by triangular dots. The coin’s edge is inscribed with “E PLURIBUS UNUM” in raised letters and 13 stars.
